Schedule of Events:


DATES/SCHEDULE:     Monday, February 25th   Entries due no later than this date—feel free to enter earlier!!  (by post or online)

                                      Thursday, Feb. 28th        Receiving Paintings  (drop off at Cochise College

                                                                              Benson Center between 1pm and 6pm.)

                                       

                                       Friday, March 1st            Art work will be hung at the college.


                                       Thursday, March 7th      Show judged in the morning. Judge’s critique for interested artists beginning at 1:30 pm..

                                                                              Show open to the public for viewing during regular college hours beginning at 1 pm. March 1st and will hang                                                                                          through March 28th

                                       Thursday, March 14th    Reception.  5:00 to 7:00 pm. at the college.  Everyone

                                                                              welcome!  Awards.  Refreshments.  Meet the artists.

                                       Thursday, March 28th    Show comes down.  Pick up artwork 1 pm. till 6:00 pm.

ELIGIBILITY:                 Show is open to all artists working in a two-dimensional medium - excluding photography. (An exhibition for photographers only is                                                         scheduled for October, 2019) No work previously entered in a "Celebrate the Arts" exhibition is eligible for this show.

ENTRIES:                      Artists may submit up to three - 3 - works at this show.

                                         Notes:  1. Maximum size for each piece of art is 36" in either dimension, including frame.

                                                      2. Management reserves the right to refuse any work deemed inappropriate for family viewing.



ENTRY FORMS AND FEES:  There are two ways to enter;

                                                1. Regular mail - go to our website at www.sprarts.org or to a member to print out or obtain an entry form.  Return form with fees to

                                                   SPRAC, P.O. Box 1358, Benson, AZ 85602

                                                2. Online - go to our website at www.sprarts.org and complete the "on-line" entry form and submit and pay online using our PayPal                                                          option.

                                                DEADLINE for entries is NO LATER THAN Monday, February 25th.

                                                Late entries will be accepted if there is space available and will be subject to a $5.00 late entry fee PER ITEM


                                                There will be NO ENTRY FEES charged for YOUTH DIVISION ENTRIES

REGULAR ENTRY FEE:        $8.00 per item for Adult SPRAC Members. $10.00 per item for Adult NON MEMBERS


PRESENTATION:                   ​Each piece of art must be framed or appropriately presented for its' medium.  All work must be strung with wire for hanging                                                                   (bracket hangers are NOT acceptable) We will not accept any artwork not ready to hang.


                                               Each painting must be clearly labeled on the back with ARtist's name and Title of painting


RECEIVING AND PICKUP:   All entries must be delivered and picked up at Cochise College Benson Center.

                                               Drop off art work on Thursday Feb. 28th between 1pm and 6pm.  Collect paintings after the show on Thursday, March 28th

                                               between 1pm and 6pm.

                                               Note!  All artwork shall hang for the duration of the show.  If you are unable to pick up your work on March 28th, contact

                                                         Linda Stacy at 520-586-2611 (lastacy43@gmail.com) to make other arrangements.


SECURITY/LIABILITY:         The San Pedro River Arts Council and Cochise College Benson Center will exercise all reasonable precautions to prevent damage to,                                                 or loss of, art work; however, the artist must ultimately assume all risks for his work.

                                               Artists are required to sign a liability waiver when making entries.


SHOW DIVISIONS:               The show will be divided into four separate divisions.  Artists will choose their division.  There will be no cross entries.

                                               YOUTH (UNDER 18)

                                               NOVICE (for the beginning artists0

                                               INTERMEDIATE

                                               ADVANCED/PROFESSIONAL (You know who you are...)


AWARDS:                              1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons will be swarded in each division,

                                                "Best of Division" rosettes will be awarded along with a cash prize of $50.00

                                                "Best of Show" winner will receive a rosette and $100.00 cash prize

                                                Up to 10 "Special Award" rosettes and $25.00 cash prizes will also be presented at the judge's discretion

                                                The judge's decisions are FINAL

                                                A "People's Choice" Rosette and $50.00 cash prize will be presented at end of show.


SALES/COMMISSIONS:      Artists will set prices for their own work.  The San Pedro River Arts Council will act as Intermediary to connect buyers and sellers.  If                                                    artist negotiates a sale, the Arts Council is due a 20% commission on that sale.  Price your work accordingly!

                                              Any work not for sale must be clearly marked NFS on the entry form.
